STOA (στοά) — Greek for a covered colonnade, a gallery lined with columns. The diagonal supports along the terrace visually echo this very archetype — a colonnade carrying an extended roof.
The project is located in the “Links” golf cottage community outside Moscow. The design is built on the principle of asymmetry: one plane of the roof overhangs the other, creating space for clerestory windows above the house’s main room — the living room. Thanks to these upper windows and the giant panoramic glazing, it became possible to light the central part of the house, giving the viewer a sense of transparency and a close connection with nature. The entrance area and the barbecue zone are joined by a gallery beneath a single roof plane, forming one continuous terrace accessible from every living space in the house.
Layout — a spacious kitchen-living room, a master suite with its own bathroom, a home theater, three bedrooms of equal size, a bathroom for the bedrooms, a guest bathroom, a laundry room, an entryway walk-in closet, and a boiler room.
Key materials: white and grey stucco façades, a plinth clad in soft ceramic, concrete steps and blind area, standing-seam metal roofing, a barbecue zone clad in porcelain stoneware, and a composite decking (WPC) terrace.
